After reading all these comments I decided to try it with my glass pipe, I packed it full as it could get light it up and it felt like straight flames went into my lungs, it burned by the minute I sucked the whole thing lit up, I wouldn't suggest smoking this at all it leaves a terrible taste in your mouths and makes you cough your balls off.

I heard that yerba mate has caffeine, but also that this component is not really caffeine but Mateine. They say that Mateine in Yerba Mate doesn't have the same side effect as the caffeine. Can somebody clarify this for me, please?

i thot of stretching my marijuana by adding some ground yerba mate to my pipe; my pipe (made it myself) holds several grams of pot but i only have enuf pot to light it.i have been using mate by adding it to my tea since i lived in uruguay back in the 60's. it looks like ground alfalfa when it comes out of my teapot(i dont strain it)and makes me feel great! i also add a teaspoon of ground guarana to my mix.

Hello there. I am a prospective cafe owner and tea enthusiast who has heard a lot about yerba mate but cannot find it where I live in singapore. I am interested in buying some samples of yerba mate in consideration for selling them here back home. Can I find out how I can purchase some? I have looked at the website above but cannot find out how to buy yerba mate from there. Thank you!

Hey Gaucho,
I had a similar problem……. After leaving work early due to illness, my gourd was left with mate and water in it. I would say it sat for about a week before I realized where it had been moved to. The mate was black and the water had been evaporated. The inside of my gourd is now also black and kinda stinky. I washed it out and am going to dry it. Should I not use it again? And why would the wet mate turn black and moldy lookin?

hey there, im jesi and im argentinian. i just moved here, acutally stayed here coz i met my husband in this country while being an exchange student. i just hooked him up with mate. he has been feeling great. he generally is exhausted, specially since he has ulcerative colitis and mate gives him the boost he cant get through coffee coz coffee is to dangerous for him, so he has had more energy, helps his digestive system and gives him all the vitamins he cant get through regular food since food doesnt stay long enough in his body for it to absorb all the nutrients he needs.
my advice...as a trully pure argentina girl that grew up with mate. drink as much as you can and you can add flavors to it. you can add mint leaves or, dry grapefruit peels , and all types of herbs to make it tastier and fun.
im so happy people in this country are starting to take advantage of mates grat benefits. my mom has drunk mate all her lie and has only good things to say about it. remember it is an herb, a plant form nature and i can never be bad to you.
take advantage people.
